SEGA released new screenshots of "Shogun 2: Toatal War" at E3, giving viewers more of a glimpse of the upcoming strategy sequel.
SEGA provided the following descriptions of each of the images:
"Battle Overview UI – This screen shows an overview of a Shogun 2 night battle as seen in-game. The Takeda Clan forces are arrayed outside their fortress, ready to fight to the death in its defence. The new simplified HUD makes the game more accessible and easier to control. We’ve also devoted more of the screen area to the in-game visuals, allowing the player greater engagement with the game. A simple, stylistic unit card control system emphasises the new artistic direction of Shogun 2. You can also see the new differed lighting system in action here, with each unit carrying its own lantern into battle.
Ships ready to land: Several Japanese vessels sit just away from the shore, having landed a number of troops for a seaborne invasion of the province. Here the brand new elements of combining the land and sea is seen in full effect, a first for a Total War game.
Sunny castle meadow: This environment is a beautiful example of the new seasonal battlefield system. Japans landscapes offer unique mountains and flat hills, as well as rice paddies, all of which will be affected by the seasons. No other Total War environment has been this detailed and this dynamic."
